Data deletion policy

Effective 29 October 2026

You can ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you at any time. This page explains how to ask, what we delete, how long it takes, and the few things deletion cannot reach. We would rather tell you those limits now than imply an erasure we cannot deliver.

1. What this covers

  • Beta signup records submitted through the form on jumpfold.com: name, email, role, firm, devices, notes, country and the rate-limiting hash described in the privacy policy.
  • Email correspondence with info@jumpfold.com.
  • Application accounts and documents, once the Jumpfold application is available to beta participants. See section 5.

2. How to request deletion

Send an email to info@jumpfold.com with the subject "Deletion request". Sending it from the email address on your signup record is enough to verify the request. If you write from a different address, we will reply to the address on record to confirm before deleting anything, so that nobody can delete your details but you.

You do not need to give a reason, and there is no charge.

3. What happens next

StepWhen
We acknowledge your request.Within 5 business days.
Your signup record is deleted from the live database and you are removed from any beta communication list.Within 30 days of a verified request. Usually much sooner.
We confirm completion by email. This is the last message we send you.When deletion is complete.
Database backups containing the deleted record expire.Within 35 days after deletion. Backups are not used to restore individual records.
Application logs mentioning the submission expire.Within 30 days of the original submission. Logs contain role and country only.

To prove to ourselves and to you that a request was completed, we keep a deletion log containing only the date and a one-way hash of the email address. The hash cannot be turned back into the address.

4. What we may keep

We will keep information only where the law requires it or where we need it to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim. If that applies to your request, we will tell you what we are keeping and why. We do not expect this to apply to ordinary beta signup records.

5. Deleting an application account

When the Jumpfold application is available, account deletion will be built into it and will work like this. These are design commitments for the released product; during the beta we will state in the beta agreement which of them are already in place.

  • You start deletion from the application under your own sign-in. A short cancellation window lets you change your mind.
  • All checkpoints, workspace records and recovery history stored by the service for your account are deleted, and the encryption keys for them are destroyed. Once the keys are destroyed, any remaining encrypted copies in expiring backups cannot be read.
  • Trusted devices are signed out and their access to the service is revoked.
  • Timing. Live data is deleted within 30 days of the request; backups expire within a further 35 days.
  • Confirmation. You receive one message confirming completion.

6. What deletion cannot reach

Deletion covers what Jumpfold stores. It cannot reach:

  • copies of documents that have already been downloaded to your own devices, opened in another application, exported, printed or emailed;
  • documents that live in another provider's service, such as a cloud office suite, which Jumpfold references but does not own;
  • data held by your firm, your clients or your colleagues.

The application will say this on the deletion screen rather than let a confirmation imply that every copy everywhere is gone.
